About the College:
Nirmala College for Women, an autonomous college affiliated to the Bharathiar University is one of the premier institutions nurturing and harvesting quality education for the cause of women empowerment. With its humble beginning in 1948 it has strengthened its roots in its mission statement and broadened its vision by rendering yeomen service to the underprivileged sections of the society. In recognition of the high academic performance and service, the College was accredited with 'A' Grade by NAAC during the academic year 2003 - 2004 and was conferred autonomous status in the year 2007.The enhancement and sustenance of quality led to the reaccreditation (II & III cycle) with 'A' Grade in the academic years 2010 – 2011 and 2015-2016 respectively with a high CGPA of 3.62 on a 4 point scale. At present it has elevated itself into a full fledged Post graduate and Research institution.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
The Department of Botany in tune with the latest development aims at producing graduates with versatile erudition in applied areas of Plant Sciences.
The Department objectives are committed towards providing more job opportunities and self-employment for the students. To bring out the potentialities of each students ; to concentrate on international linkages and MOU ; With over half - a - century's experience, since the beginning in 1957, the Department has grown from strength to strength. The Department of Botany now prides itself in offering Post - Graduate Degree Courses and Research Programmes like M.Phil and Ph.D. Well - equipped laboratories with the latest apparatus and preserved specimens are a special feature of the Department. Tutor - ward Meeting and Educational trips not only impart knowledge and self-confidence but also strengthen the ties between students and faculty.
International and National Seminars, Symposia, Workshops and Conferences organized by the Department stand as a testimony to our growth. The Department provides training in mushroom cultivation to enhance self-employment. UGC-sponsored certificate courses in Bonsai & Floriculture and Medicinal Botany help the students to have an edge over their fellow graduates from other colleges.
IMRF
International Multidisciplinary Research Foundation, Vijayawada, India is basically a Non-Profit Organization and is a Unit of Ratna Prasad Multidisciplinary Research and Educational Society (Govt. Regd.) founded by Dr. Ratnakar D. Bala, Director and Editor-in-Chief IMRF International Journals is known to be actively involved in promoting the realm of research, education and philanthropy for a new world order. Sri D.V. Prasad Rao, Chairman, IMRF is a humanist faithful apostle of education and research together with an absolute commitment towards service to human species. Smt Nimmagadda Mary, Vice-Chairperson is the patroness rendering the best of her passion towards Human Values and Ethics to be inculcated in the arena of Education and Research pertinent to IMRF motto and work culture.
